EU trademark
Community trademark
Through a single application, a Community trademark can be used to obtain uniform protection for all member states of the European Union. The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market in Alicante, Spain, is responsible for registration. If the trademark is refused in one country, it expires for all countries. The duration of protection of the Community trademark is ten years and can be extended as often as desired. An opposition against the European trademark application is possible within a three-month period.
